redundant

Something I watched on the telly cheered me up immensely earlier. Oddly enough, it was an episode of Friends with Phoebe singing a song about staying at Monica's apartment:

"They thought Phoebe would leave,
But she just stayed and stayed,
That's right,
I'm here all night,
And Chandler will never get laid"

Even I cannot put my finger on the reason why this has brightened my mood so.

In other bits of malarkey concerning my life I got made redundant on friday along with 2 other guys - the reason being that 'the company has no use for online credit vetting any more.' Well smack my arse and call me Judy ... (don't.)

Some guy from Australia called Jay is coming over to London in April - there's this girl called Sonya who I chat with on MSN and I sent her a couple of my songs as demos, which she forwarded to Jay, and apparently he loves my stuff. So much so, in fact, that he wants me to do a couple of music projects with him. I don't know what it involves exactly, but it is definitely good news. It could be the start of my big break.

Have been reading up on the net regarding the final series of Friends. Yes it's quite sad that I'm actually hooked on it, but after the end of series 10 there will be a 90-minute Thanksgiving episode this autumn, (for which the cast received $2m each) followed perhaps by a feature-length film, and there will definitely be the debut season of "Joey" starring Matt LeBlanc on NBC this autumn. Which personally speaking is a shit idea - what on earth will the storyline be? "sleeps with chick 1, sleeps with chick 2, sleeps with chick x, gets head stuck in fridge"....boooooooring. The 6 cast are nothing without each other. And anyway rich ppl need vast incomes. None of their careers has taken off particularly well outside of the sitcom, perhaps Courteney Cox Arquette's Scream adventures excepting, so I would bet that it won't be long before they come running back for more. Despite the 'the final series' subtitle on the series 10 packaging on play.com....
