Was waiting to bet £1 on a horse race at Ladbrokes yesterday when 2 of my coursemates, Gopal and Panos, walked in with their friends. This Asian student (Gopal’s mate I assume) put £20 in a games machine. 1 minute and 2 spins of virtual roulette later, he was cleaned out. I remember some bad beats in Leeds last year but the guy lost 20 quid in 60 seconds!
Enough gambling, time to prepare for the King’s talent show ‘Faceoff’ which is next Tuesday. We (City Uni) are competing against King’s, UCL, QMW and Imperial. Each uni has 2 acts of music and dance. Sam is organising our music team, which consists of, well, a lot of people! Flute (western and carnatic), veena, violin, keyboard, guitar, vocal and percussion. Its gona be interesting to see how this pans out in the next couple of days.
whilst I approve of competing .. doesn't it all mean you're gonna end up setting fire to each other's drumkits or detune other unis' sitars in calculated attempts at sabotage? :) because that might actually make quite a good show...lol
