one great cross from Beckham, one big leap from Crouch…..

Those were Tydsley’s words just before Crouch scored the opener. Gerrard’s trademark screamer settled the match. That was a relief eh??!!!

I remember watching the Paraguay match last Saturday at Ramani’s mate’s flat. That day was a little different. Anish and his flatmate Nikhil organised a barbecue and it was all going smoothly after the match. We went for a little kick about outside and I noticed a few Asian teens hanging around the area.

They approached us and offered to play a 5-a-side. So we got some of the guys from our party together and went to a nearby playground. It was a good run out, especially as I hadn’t done any real exercise in ages. We lost something like 10-6 to them (I managed to score one for us haha).

Walked back to the flat and they started to follow us, chanting, gloating n all. They started to threaten us, asking for money that we apparently bet with them. (??!!) Nikhil got a little heated up and was ready to throw the kitchen sink at them, and I had to restrain him. They started to throw bottles at us; there was broken glass everywhere and everyone rushed back inside.

That wasn’t the first time I had seen this happen, but it was for a lot of the other people at the barbecue. I was the youngest one there (everyone else was 25 and over), but I had to stop some of the guys from confronting those Asian pikeys. Thought I was the immature one.

Anyway, enough of that, I’m packing up for a trip to India with my parents. Leaving next Monday, and coming back on 3rd July. I should be able to catch some World Cup highlights in Bangalore…..
