Just got in from the Albert Hall, where we had box seats to see Howard Shore conduct his Lord of the Rings Symphony. Was quite good, except the string writing was a tad repetitive in places, and the choral parts could have done with a little more variation. We also had the misfortune to be seated next to possibly the loudest whistler in the entire world. Good job I still had a fresh bottle of beer at the end of the performance. It helped numb the painful ringing in my ears. I considered going up to him and letting him know it wasn't exactly a goddamn football match, it was a civilised concert, but I thought better of it. Too laid back to get involved, that's me.
I would write more but I have to be up at 5am to load the car, have a coffee and drive to Leeds. I must unpack and register for the year by 12.30! Until the next time then.
